Absolutely. I've never understood why they go free for doing things that would land any of the rest of us in prison. The law should apply to EVERYONE.

Yes they should be prosecuted just the same as the average citizen. Just because they think they are the top dog, does not give them a free ride.. This goes for the members of congress , senate, the president and ex-presidents, they are nothing but a common citizen just like the rest of us. Also congress should not be allowed to get a pay raise more than anyone drawing a government check.

Politicians, like everyone else, are subject to the rule of law and would face prosecution (as individuals) if they break the law.

But as for spending money unwisely or making mistakes - nobody is perfect and no politician can please all of the people all of the time.

If you want that criteria applied to politicians then it must be applied to everyone else as well. So, can you say, hand on heart, that you have never had a "mishap" or spent money unwisely?

Every single day. Politicians are the worst criminals on the planet because they are in positions of power and get away with a lot more than anyone else in the world. No one political party is better than the next. They are all the same and lie on a daily basis.

Yes, Blair is a liar and a murderer, and were I an Iraq parent with dead children, I would be hell bent on seeing Blair and Bush off this mortal coil as soon as possible after they come out of politics.

Hell does not fear those who protect these murderes, and the same fate awaits them too.

Definitely!!!!! Politicians should be held accountable for their actions. Most politicians abuse their power:They are interested in fighting personal battles. Some politicians waste tax payers money and prosecute those who unfortunately embezzle few dollars from tax payers resources.personal promotion:some presidents promote themselves and their colleagues.Politics seems more like a business investment than leading the people.
Doesn't the resistance to withdrawal our troups from Iraq seem like a personal battle at stake???????????

If money spent unwisely were a crime. we'd all be locked up.

But they should be prosecuted if indicted by Congress or a grand jury for breaking the law.

You bet. Scooter Libby is convicted of lying because he misquoted himself because he could not remember exactly what he said to Novak a year earlier. Then howcome Sandy Berger(pronounced 'Burglar') got off with a slap on the wrist?

For what? In a democracy, you need evidence before you go around prosecuting any Tom, Dick and Harry. Are you alright?

I think all politicians should be prosecuted for accepting bribes. But they have a special word for it so they don't get prosecuted. They call it lobbying.

That said, I think it should be easier to arrest a legislator who grossly violates a law.
