They think their vote doesnt matter
Fraud in the system (Bushs first presidential "win")
Disentrested they dont care
Politicking in govt nothing will ever get done
Younger generation, too much too do they dont stop and think

They don't know or understand the issues or the candidates.
They don't care about politics
They don't like the candidates. (They might like a candidate if they had voted for one in the Primaries.)
They live in a City like Chicago where politics and the voting process is so corrupt the feel their vote is meaningless.
They are ignorant.

Everyone puts up signs about voting, encouraging people to vote. I also hear it said to make sure you vote because it's your right. That's the big one - and that's the one I understand the least. Is it the right thing to do? To encourage people to vote simply because it's one of their rights?
Isn't that the same as telling people to make sure they make a speech because they have the right to do so? Or to buy firearms - because it's their right to do so?

Because they live in a state that the candidate you would vote for wouldn't stand a chance in hell because they belong to the "wrong party" and you already know what the outcome of the election will be in advance.

They are not interested in politics.
They think it just doesn't matter; all politicians are the same.
They know noting about the candidates or issues and should not vote.
They don't think either parties position affects their lives.
The weather, no time, inconvenient.

alot of people think that all politicians are as bad as each other wich makes it difficult to choose between them.
