because its easy to be racist on here, no one can find you, and you can be completely honest with your opinions without worrying that someone will kill you. Racists are idiots, but in such a forum, they strive!

This is a place they can do it relatively anonymously and so they go hog wild in ways that make their numbers look larger than they really are.
On some discussion boards I visit, there will be a lot of threads on issues that I disagree with, so I'll post a poll and it turns out most people agree with me. The other side was just a very vocal minority who looked bigger by shooting off their mouth more often.
There's a positive political lesson in there too--politicians know that for every letter or phone call they get, there are ten people who are mad about the same issue but too lazy to call. So if you call or write twice, you have become 20 people instead of 10.

Because the media harps on this issue over and over. For the last week, all CNN was reporting was race issues. The news media will make a racist of a lot of people that weren't before the Imus situation. Jackson and Sharpton are the biggest racists in the USA, but no-one sems to see this.
These 2 are the most anti-white people in the world, thriving on any situation where someone speaks out of turn.

Because the word "racist" is used much too often incorrectly. People call anyone a racist if they are for enforcing our immigration laws. You are called a racist if you oppose the goals of the NAACP, MEChA, LULAC, La Raza, and any other non-white supremacist organization. In short, white people are called racist at the drop of a hat by non-whites.
Look at Sharpton's and Jackson's hypocrisy over Imus's comments and the Duke Lacrosse players. They condemned the white athletes before a trial, and they did not apologize to them after they were exonerated. Also, the Rutgers basketball players have heard the words, ho, ******, b*tches, and more thousands of times from black rappers and hip-hoppers. But I don't hear those two idiot activists condemning the rappers!

Thank god for your question. I ask this every day? What's happened to everyone?
I mean I get excited and passionate about stuff, but I can disagree without calling the person asking the question names meant to be hurtful to make a point.
I think maybe they lead very sad lives; people who have very little power in their own lives; and this is a forum where they can be right and in charge.
I feel it too, (sometimes).
Also, it does prove, that people haven't changed as much as the technology has around us. We are basically, still hung up on race, sex, religion, and politics. Just like when our forefathers founded this Great Country trying to establish Freedom to practice religion, to not be discriminated against because of sex, color, sexual orientation or religious following. It's part of our Constitution. It's the main focus of the Declaration of Independence. It's been forgotten.
Interesting problem...

Maybe it is just me, but I seldom find any of my friends or associates saying anything bigoted or racist.
When I meet someone who behaves in that manner, I don't associate with him and let him know why.
The instances where I hear the most comments that may fall into that category is after a major news headline usually featuring Jessy Jackson or Al Sharpton.
I think those two CREATE an atmosphere of racism due to their excessive manufacturing of problems.
If they didn't create such a smog of trouble, they would soon be out of a job.
Sure there are some bigots around, but if they were just shunned, the problem would vanish and some other issue would become the topic of the day.

As the other person said, lately the media has been blasting us with it, and, of course, we see how it's always directed towards the whites, when we see just as much coming from the non-whites.. Soooo, naturally, we get a bit edgy and anxious, and want to have our say, and, of course, as was stated earlier, this place is pretty anonymous.. soooo, sometimes, more gets said than should, butttt, you also have to remember, if somebody is venting in a fairly mild manner, then there's less likely to be shooting, or cutting.. because, if people don't do SOME venting, then there could be trouble.

Everyone thinks that what they think is right and they can't see other peoples opinions as possibilities. What might actually solve lots of situations is a dream that will never come true unless we all agree to accept everyone as who they are. You can try to Stop negative thinking in yourself but each individual has to do it for themselves and I don't think that's possible because people seem to like being angry so they actually thrive on it. There is way to much hatred in the world and not enough love. But how can you fix the world? I start with myself and just try to live life to the fullest. Hopefully others will follow.

To answer your question. The internet provide those who are racist and bigoted to voice their vile opinions hiding behind the www.
Internet courage is what I call it.
It gives people the forum to voice what they otherwise would keep to themselves in 'normal' society and remain anonymous. In short, they are probably cowards in real life.

Thank Al Sharpton for the recent rise in the racist attitudes. He has yet to make his apology for trying to ruin 3 young mens lives.
