The Best Bath is a Clean One
It is important to keep your bird bath clean and filled with fresh water. Emptying and scrubbing the baths every two or three days will prevent bacteria, algae, Salmonella and other disease organisms from fouling the water. Household products such as vinegar are fine to use as a cleaning agent; never use chemicals

The easiest way to do it is coat the entire bird bath with a clear acryllic coating. Depending on what it is made of it may take a couple of coats to completely seal it. Once it is dry you can spray it out with a good garden sprayer on high stream and nothing will stick to the inside. No cleaners or putting your hands in it.

I just use the garden hose and clean the birdbath and change the dirty water every other day or so. Once a year I'll use a pressure washer on it and then paint it with a product that is used to stop water leaks in concrete. It is a water proofing paint so it looks nice. good luck

I feed birds and have a bird bath. I use vinegar and baking soda. Make sure you rinse real good. These products will not hurt the birds.
