Who bought the car & got the credit (only because your Mother co-signed for YOU)?
If you don't pay, then who has the bad credit? You and your MOTHER.
Now, if you don't pay then who should get the car? A CAR that the CO-SIGNER NEVER WANTED TO BEGIN WITH, but now is paying for because of YOU! YOU ASSHOLE!

If you are over 18 and making the payments, there is nothing she can do. If you are under 18 you are still considered a child. If you are not making the payments then she would be legally responsible as a cosigner and is entitled to take possession of the car, because iteffects her credit too.

This is something that an attorney will have to be consulted on. Since your mother cosigned on it, and this is on her credit it is possible. My parents never cosigned on my rides and when my mother tried to take my keys (because of something I did as a teenager) I reminded her that I paid for the insurance, gas and maintenance on the car, as well as the purchase price. You mom may have a legal right to take yours; this is why you never get a cosigner angry with you. In the future, never buy more car than you can comfortably afford. Good luck, I've been there .

Are you over 18? Is the car titled in your name? If the answers are yes, then I don't see how she can take it away from you.
Do you live at home? If so, then this will be another set of problems, if you are living there, then you pretty much have tolive by theri rules, it is their house.
Try and settle this amongest yourselves. If you do get another loan and pay the first one off, then your mom has nothing to say. The only thing she can say is to move if you live at home. So again be careful what you say. good luck

You want to keep it? No problem. Just pay it completely off, and then her name will not be on there as co-signer any longer. I assume you have your own address and are over the age of 18 also.

Well if it's co-signed and your under 18yrs old w/no or bad credit, then yeah she could take it from you but your name would still be on the title ect..

More than likely NO. Who's name is on the registration...That is what counts. As long as it is your name, your mother has no legal rights to the vehicle as long as your payments are up to date. As a co-signer, she has the same rights concerning the vehicle, as the bank does. As long as your payments are up to date, they have NO say...

No legally she can not take your car away. She can, however, legally make you life a living hell. Be careful.
