Hi everyone,

I have Windows XP.

Now I have installed Ad-Aware SE & Spybot and everytime I run these they both pickup 'Spyware.AdvancedKeyLogger' which is shown as located in my 'HKEY clsid\{dee6806c-fb33-d04c-e1c6-8da9b2204850}'.

In both of these programmes I have selected to delete/quarantine this, but in Spybot it says there was a problem, and in Ad-Aware it says I have deleted it. When I run the scans again, it's BACK!

I'm getting so frustrated as I have no idea what to do now. It's the only thing that comes up on my computer in these scans and I just want to get rid of it! It's not actually doing anything noticable to my computer, but just the pure fact that I have a key logger on my computer is driving me crazy! On Ad-Aware it comes up as a number 10 on the TAC? scale, and it is highlighted as a threat.

Can anyone help me out? Is there any way to get rid of it? I can't afford to buy any programmes. Any answer/help that is given will be greatly appreciated.

TIA :)

The exact location of the logger is:

Class ID
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{DEE6806C-FB33-D04C-E1C6-8DA9B2204850}

Thought that might help a little bit.

This is what you do, run your scans in safe mode, this is how.

For Windows XP

If the computer is running it is best to shut down Windows and then turn off the power.

Begin by first clicking on the Start Button and then click on Turn Off Computer.

Now click on the Turn Off red colored icon to shut down your computer system.

It is best to wait between 15 to 30 seconds before you turn your system back on.

Turn on your computer and start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard.

Some Computers may display a keyboard error message if you begin tapping F8 too quickly.

Restart your computer again and begin tapping the F8 key a brief second or two later.

When the Windows Advanced Options Menu appears, Choose the Safe Mode option and hit Enter.

Windows will now boot your computer up in Safe Mode.

go to downloads.com and look up Asquared, I think you can still find it there. Download and run it. It will usually take out things that Ad-aware will not. If you have time to sit and watch it scan, do that. I had a trojan horse that I could not get rid of, I finally sat there and watched it, and as it scanned, I would pick it off and delete, and got it out that way. Good luck!

Try using these steps:

download CWShredder

Then,

Run CWShredder first,
then run an ad aware scan
then a spybot scan.

then do your normal everyday antivirus scan,

restart your computer and it shoul dbe gone. If it isnt, your computer will be clean of every other virus :D
