hey. I can tell youre american (no offence) cause you suggest going by plane. You can cover the whole of england in around 5 hours by car, we are a tiny country. Nearest beaches to london are places like Brighton or southend, hour by car. Brighton is stony and the vibe there is amazing on hot days. The seas a bit choppy though.

Southend is abit of a dump in my opinion, but there you go

London has beaches, to the river. But I really wouldnt swim in it, its illegal very dangerous and youll just collide with condoms and shopping trolleys

Nearest beaches to London are at Southend to the east and Brighton to the south..both about an hour by train. Or 10 minutes if you insist on a plane!

There is definitely no beach in London, Didn't you realise London is not on the coast ?

The nearest beach is Brighton on the south coast, don't try flying unless you own a plane. Just drive (1 - 2 hrs depending on traffic) or get the train less than an hour from central London.

You can probably get to any beach in the UK if you go an hour or so by plane - there is some nice beaches around the UK, I think Cornwall has some nice ones but up north to Scotland has some fantastic beaches.

Plane? You'd take damned ages booking in and all that. If you wish to go by train, Margate and Southend are the Cockney's seaside choice or if you want to travel a little bit more like an hour and a half or so, you've got Brighton, Hastings and Worthing or you can even see me in Eastbourne.

Guernsey is only an hour away from London, by plane and as we're an island, we're surrounded by beautiful beaches.

Southend is what some people call "the local beach" to London, but London itself doesn't have a beach, cos it's inland.

Strangely enough there is a famous street called the Strand... which means beach... But your nearest will be Brighton (pebbles) or Eastbourne... both by rail from London quick and easy
