Let me say this... I did my highschool term paper on cellphones 2 months ago and I came across this... Verizon Wireless was the No.1 wireless carrier until 2006 when Cingular "Merged" with AT&T and so now they got the No.1 spot. I use verizon simply b/c they are their own company and have awesome coverage and didnt have to merge to earn their credibility verizon still is the no.2 spot but I dont care it is totally worth it!!!! they earned their spots on the charts by their # of subscribers.

Plus Verizon lets you "test drive" their network for 30 days money back guarantee**

In my opinion, Cingular has the best cell phone plans. Unlimited moble to moble, nights and weekends and just recently they have a plan for unlimited text messages. Also you get rollover minutes

cingular barely ever drops calls, i used my friends cingular phone for a month, not a single dropped call and it almost always had service, my cricket phoe dropped at least 2 or three calls day and seldom has good service
so don't make the mistake i did, get cingular/new at&t

Depends where you live. Ask around to see what other's experience in your area is. I see Cingular is a popular answer, but I can tell you they are terrible where I live. No one company is the best everywhere.

There isn't a "best". No matter who you go with you'll have problems.
