You need to convert each fraction so they have a "common denominator" or the same bottom number.
If you take 8/25 and multiply both top and bottom number by 4 you get 32/100.
Take 3/20 and multiply both top and bottom by 5 and you get 15/100.
So 32/100 - 15/100 is like (32-15) / 100.
32 - 15 = 17.
So the answer is 17/100.

I have no idea how you got 14.

To subtract fractions you only need to subtract the numerator, but to do this you need to have the same denominator. First you need to find the LCM ... the factor which is common to both 25 and 20
In this case it is 100. 25 x 4 = 100 and 20 x 5 = 100.

So 8/25 x 4 = 32/100
and 3/20 x 5 = 15/100

So 32/100 - 15/100 = 17/100

It's 32/100 - 15/100 = 17/100.
It's hard to tell what you did without looking at your work.
