It was refreshing to read Professor Garry Hunt's claim that overpopulation is very bad for the planet.Strange that the 'greens' are so quiet about this and that some governments are actively trying to get people to increase the population. The UK is one of these by throwing money at people every time they produce new offspring. No wonder unmarried mothers are increasing in number, it makes economic sense for them to do so.It is other tax payers that are paying for this.

A great question which shows great culture. You know that the answer is yeeeea. We suffer and will still suffer as tax-payers from the unplanned policies of our governments.

whats your problem that the world is over populated or that some people are in your opinion getting more cash.

In the UK there is going to be a big divide, more older people than young, so it will create economic problems later

but in the real world
if nature couldn't cope it wouldn't be in the act of reproduction

so often natures very own way is overlooked in favour of mans ideals

mankind is not the most important species on this planet, the sooner we realise we are just here for a short time the better, enjoy the experience and don't get caught up in the bull***** of the likes of scientist and politicians.

life is a short journey enjoy the ride

Well the fact is that the world is nowhere near overpopulated. It is mismanaged and certain elements among us are trying desperately to gather all of the Earth's resources unto themselves. It is these gnomes that might tell you the world is overpopluated. Figure this: If the entire population of the planet was crammed into the State of Texas, each living person would have a plot 10 by 10 feet. This is a point of illustration only and it makes it easier to visualize the reality that the planet is not overpopulated. Mismanaged, yes.

of course it has and very much so and there will come a time (not in ours i hasten to add) when the population of this world will starve and statistic tell us the population has decreased over the last few years //BALONEY and if they encourage unmarried mothers to bring children into this world especially this country at the rate they are doing right now i can only see disaster looming

Overpopulation of the planet is not the problem.
Ignorance within the population of the planet is the problem!

to answer the question..lets educate the people in africa and the 3rd world..who churn out child after child because they have no education in birth control...and when they do - they are often governed by the stupid church 'policies' and arent allowed proper birth control...rock & a hard place springs to mind.

....and when you refer to the uk...maybe parents should instill more morals into their children so that they dont 'knock out' babies..just to get benefits & flats!! better still...let the teen mothers and their offspring live with their own parents until they get a job and pay their own way in life!!
