If you choose to wear your Star Trek uniform, make sure it's clean and well-pressed. Be sure to polish any metallic accents it may have. Also, if your uniform requires makeup or prosthetics, be sure to practice your application beforehand - you don't want your fake ears/scalp to come off on the first day!
You should also be aware that your uniform may provoke strong reactions from your new co-workers, depending on what Star Trek show it's from (for instance, many Voyager fans are still not healed from the show's end). A safer route may lie in more traditional cosplay - have you considered Sailor Moon or Final Fantasy? Everyone loves a schoolgirl or a futuristic teen warrior seeking revenge.

No no no that is a very bad way to start. In a job your supposed to dress nice not like a superhero because all it tells a job is that your a class crown. Plus it would make the people at your job look bad like they hired a crown right off the street. Instead you must be professional and dress like everyone else at the job to really fit in. People will make fun of you and think your weird if you dress up in Star Trek. Dress in that for Halloween if your job allows you but not anytime after that.

Only if you are starting to work at a comic book store. Dress for success it is your job not a friends house or a club.
