It's great fun. I've done it countless times over the years. Every so often they change the programming of the lift, so it does a slightly different sequence of lifts and drops.
The theming is very good. You start by going into a library where an old TV flickers into life and a Rod Serling soundalike gives you a "Twilight Zone" intro. Then you're led into the lift which travels through scenes reminiscent of the TZ opening titles (look out for an image of yourself projected onto a giant eyeball to your right as you pass!). Then the lift doors close, the lights go out, and they reopen on a blank brick wall. That's the great adrenaline moment! Then suddenly the lift drops!
It's a fantastic ride, well worth the queues. It's just opposite the Aerosmith Rock'n'Rollercoaster which is also marvellous, so you can get a fastpass for one ride and then queue for the other.
Oh, one other tip for the Tower of Terror: The hydraulics of the ride pull the lift down faster than gravity, so you will literally lift up out of your seat and float upwards! So, if you can, try to get the seat in the middle of the lift, where your restraint is a fabric belt rather than a bar, and that makes the sensation more pronounced. For the same reason, do make sure you empty your pockets before doing the ride, otherwise your coins and keys may escape!

No. However, there was a short footage on the BBC recently of a family who live in Florida who went to Disney for the day and the two men of the family, dad and son, tried out the Tower of Terror.
This thing, I guess 150 - 200 tower looks seriously scary. You strap in and then get shot into the air at high speed and down again at what looks like higher speed and then back up again and so on a three or four times.
Don't ask me what happens to the contents of your stomach. Best bet is to eat nothing before trying the Tower of Terror. Good luck, but don't blame me!!
One thing which is reassuring about Disney Florida, is the BBC footage also showed what the staff do at night. Apart from clean up our mess, they also check every single 'ride' and put right even a minor fault. The engineers at Diz give it the once over ever single night.
Be afraid, very afraid.

It isn't a roller coaster but you have to go on it. It's varied each time I've been there. Initially when it first opened, once you'd queued through the grounds, seen the video show and walked through to the lift shaft, there was a pleasant ride through the dark to the 'main' run. You travelled up tothe top pf the lift and then dropped a few floors. Shot back to the top and the doors opened and you could see right over the park. Drop a few floors again but without stopping this time you go straight back up and right back down to the bottom. There have been a few more drops and ups and downs the last couple of times. You won't know where your stomach is. If you're an adrenalin junli though, do the Aerosmith Rock and Roller Coaster. Have loadsa fun xx

This was great if you like fast and high rides go to Bush Gardens on Shekira my days that is scary but exciting, I went on it so many times. There are some great rides at Bush Gardens, MGM is also not bad. There is also a new ride at Epcot it's like going into space there is no gravity it was excellent. I went in December and because that is classed as cold (even though it was very warm) we got to go on every ride within all the parks maximum waiting time was 10 mins it was great. If you can go to Old Town, me and my husband went on a 350 foot drop in this sack thing and got a DVD of it for a tenner, that was probally the scariest, but also Old town is excellent for some night life and you can take children, Me, my dad, brother-in-law and husband all got tattoos from a guy who works for Miami Ink here best tattooist I have been too. You will find it coming from Disney Land. Have fun you will love it.

Its great.
I am a huge scared cat when it come to these things and frankly only went on it as my friend was desperate to try it out and didn't want to go alone.
I also hate ghost trains and the first part is one.
I was shaking and kept my eyes closed through most of the ghost train bit. Then the guy next to me told me to open my eyes, and i did. I am so grateful to that random man. It is fantastic!!!!!!!
I liked to so much and was annoyed I'd missed some of it that we got off and went straight on again.
Truly a unique experience.
Whilst you are there you have to go on the Aerosmith ride too. The queues are very long but it is probably the best roller coaster in the world - believe you hit g-force or something like that.
Enjoy!!!

Yeah, although it was back in 1997. You sit in rows with other people and it takes you on a tour and it plays a video about a famioly that used to live in the tower and apparently someone died or they all died when the lift cables snapped. during this time (although you dont notice) the lift u are sitting in is getting pulled to the top. then all of a sudden everything cuts out - the video thats playing and the lights, you hear a snapping noise then you basically freefall down a lift shaft lol
smile tho, coz u get ur picture taken halfway down haha

Yes, I have, and it is brilliant.
What makes it even more scary is the build up, in the queue. The queue takes you through a graveyard, then in to the basement of hotel, before you get in to the service elevator. You will s**t yourself, but once you've been on, you'll want to go on again.
Don't miss the rock n'roller coaster, nearby as well; that's wicked. A Disney, they have a ticket system where you can put your ticket in a machine, and you get a ride time reservation, where it prints out the time you get on. This cuts down on queueing a lot.
Enjoy.

The queue for the ride is a really well themed hotel. It is terrifying - don't go on it if you don't like vertical drops. I'd recommend you get a fast pass early on in the day so you'll spend less time queueing. I hated it personally, as I don't like vertical drops. But I only know this from going on the ride, so go for it!
