I've been reading some Q&A here where people say they don't see black, white, chinese, japanese, etc... What does that mean? Are we supposed to see everyone the same? Ignore culture? Reminds me of a McDonald slogan. "One world, one taste". Their goal is to have a cheeseburger taste the exact same no matter where in the world you buy it. I for one enjoy the differences. What's your thoughts on this? Do you see race or no? I don't know what's so bad about seeing race. People are different. Cultures are different. What's wrong with that?

They know that cultures are different, they just don't see it as a way to divide or demean ppl.

That is what they mean, when they say that they do not see colors, only ppl.

I love learning about different cultures. I don't basically "see" race, I see culture. Everyone, White, Black, Asian, whoever has a culture. Now, I think being color or culture blind is wrong, in that if you ignore that, then you ignore all the problems a culture goes through. Also you don't really learn anything, which I believe knowledge of the people around you is always a good thing.

Well, I'm white and my wife is black/white mixed. I lived for 18 years in a town where there was virtually no ethnic variation (ie we were all white). Then I moved to a large city and of course there is great variation black/white/indian/chinese every possible mixture. I notice all the differences and I suppose I treat people differently because of the differences. In the same way I would treat a fat person differently to a thin person. Not beacuse there one is better than the other but everyone treats people according to stereotypes, don't they?

But anyway, yes I see colour/race and no I don't see anything wrong with noticing it. Hating people because of race/colour is a very different matter...

Its not necessarily a matter of ignoring the culture, it just has to do with overall acceptance. Color should never be an issue in any situation so I think when people say that they dont see color/race they mean that it doesnt matter. I dont see color or race when I'm around people either because thats not a trait we can control. Its just who we are so it should be of no concern at all.

I do. I continuously recommend what I say. I not often have the "oops...I don't have stated that" 2nd. i comprehend some say " i such as you" and don't recommend it in any respect. Reminds of me lyrics in the hot John Mayer music..."Who Says". the line is "Who says i won't have the ability to get stoned call up a woman that i used to comprehend pretend love for an hour or so" i think human beings can pretend asserting "i such as you" for an hour or so too... :)

Color is only skin deep - ignorance cuts deep into the soul.

Nothing wrong with cultural differences - but, every culture has basically the same people type's - Idiots, *******, Elitist, and down to earth good natured tolerant souls.

I think to some people (such as myself) the idea of saying "I don't see color/race" is actually saying that the color or race of someone isn't something that makes me automatically judge them, see them in a different light, etc, etc.. Of course, I SEE if someone is Asian, White, African-American, etc.. and yes, I understand there are different cultures, etc.. But what I mean when I say I don't "see" it.. I mean that they are completely the same to me as seeing a person of my same race, etc in that they're human.. and they deserve the same as I expect of others seeing me, etc.

I think when people use that phrase they are saying that they see people as being people. That no matter their race etc they are still humans.

Nothing wrong until one starts to force their culture on yours. Like Kwanzaa, what a joke.
