I am about 5'1'' and I am choosing a prom dress. I'll be wearing heels and all. I am wondering if a longer dress would make me look taller or a shorter one... anyone know?

It will make you look shorter. A shorter dress will elongate your legs with the high heels making you look taller :)

No..in fact it will make you look much shorter. Get a prom dress that comes up to the knee and wear 3 inch heels. You could also get a prom dress with a hemline that is shorter in the front and a little longer in the back..that style is in and would be great for you too. Good Luck.

I think it will make you look shorter since your hiding your legs. If the dress is long then I would wear some pretty big heels to make you taller.

A high-low dress would, but no not long dresses in general. Bring someone shopping with you to ask them if you look taller or not.

a knee legnth dress which shows your shape (a dress that just hangs on you will make your look shorter) and high heels (obviously)... o and make sure you have a good posture all the time, shoulder back, chest out and make sure you spine is straight. so many people look shorter because their back is crouched all the time. pay more attention to this and you will automatically look and feel better. hope all this helps.

At 5'1, the only thing that will make you look taller is...5" hooker heels.
Sorry. You're petite and there's nothing wrong with that!
Get a short dress and show off your legs!

Absolutly not! It makes you look shorter. I read in a magazine that empire waist dresses make short people look taller.

A shorter one would look better. Trust me boys love little girls, I'm 5'1 and boys would call me muneca or doll! Well anyway a shorter one would be cuter with heels.

no actually a longer dress shortens people because it engulfs the person....for shorter people you should always wear dresses around knee length with higher shoes (platforms, pumps, stilettos)........with the shoe height it adds length to the leg and with the legs showing, it also adds extra length..........good luck finding a cute dress ;]
