There are no US Servicemembers in Iraq that did not voluntarily join the military, shouldn't we respect their decisions?

Is there even ONE (1) service person in Iraq that did NOT join, re-enlist, or extend AFTER 9/11?

If they did join, re-enlist, or extend AFTER 9/11 then they are fullfilling their contract! And I greatly respect and honor them for that!

So why shouldn't everyone do the same?

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT confuse the soldiers oath with making policy. A soldier, sailor, and airmen have all pledged to follow the legal orders of their elected leaders. We have promised to follow our orders, not decide what those orders are. There are just as high a percent in Iraq that believe we don't need to be there, as there are over here.

Also, remember there has been a lot that has come to light just the last 2 years - the lack of WMDs, the hush campaign against those that tried to warn us of the faulty WMD intel, the lack of a timetable or quantitative goals to be accomplished, and now the 15 month tours in Iraq. I know I no longer support it, and I AM getting out of the military.

Their decisions about what? To join? To go to Iraq?

Most did not volunteer to go to Iraq.

Military personnel sign contracts, but the government has decided that they can arbitrarily change the terms of the contract. That should allow soldiers to renegotiate or get out of the contract.

The military does not hesitate to cancel contracts at will when they decide they need to reduce forces. Soldiers should have the same right.

Not this false precept again.

NO!

When I volunteered to serve, I did not decide where to go. I trusted the elected leaders to make prudent decisions based on the value of my life versus the needs of the country. Iraq has been the greatest debacle in modern history. Somalia can't even compare to this historical screw up.

Not all are volunteers, some are carrier military and could have originally drafted.
