We are not privy to what the President knows. As unpopular as this war is, I do know, that if we leave Iraq now, terrorists will follow our troops home. If the Iraq war hadn't happened, something else would have taken it's place. For Pete's sake folks, they rammed the towers with airplanes. It was just the beginning. It's a huge 12 step plan that al-Qaeda has. Taking over the Middle East and Destroying America are top on the list.

I'm not an American but I appreciate the position of America in history and in the bible. However, we cannot solve the world's problem by embarking on Bush's journey of eradicating terrorism through bombing them out of exixtence which has largely failed as it has succeeded in breeding newer terrorists and raising fear the world over.
Problems are not solved by being symptomatic rather the identification of the root is a major path to its solution. Terrorism is bred from inequity which has led to different forms of deprivations and thus robbing people of that thing that makes him human and reducing him to a beast. If he becomes a beast, what do you get; suicide bombings etc.
How to combat it? Give them back their humanity by addressing the inequity. Remove the double-speak in Palestine, stop the greed for oil in the middle east; cease the exploitation of resources and its attendant expropriations in the DRC etc. The world would be calmer.

Invaded Saudi Arabia - the country from where those terrorists came from that brought down our Twin Towers!
And not making a fool out of my self by Vowing to capture Osama Bin Laden dead or alive - then later saying that Osama was irrelevant!
He should have kept after him instead of invading Iraq!
Just how idiotic was this?

It is a very difficult issue. But it seems that the path changes directions from time to time. Bombing a country seems almost like punishing a murderer by death penalty. Is not death - death? My major problem with the war was the great delay. it gave the terrorists time to prepare.
Last comment, I hear many people says "we don't want it on our land", but for the families and loved ones of each fallen solider, the war is in their backyard.

Instead of going into Iraq, one of these:
1. Push through Lebanon and into Syria.
2. Start in Afghanistan and move into Iran.
Iran and Syria were much more of a threat than Iraq. Also on the day of the Afghanistan invasion, also invaded Yemen.

Sometimes you have to use bad situations to your advantage. Sadam was bad, but he was keeping things together. All we did in Iraq was destabilize the area. And now we will NEVER get it back. Afghanistan was necessary. We are directly engaged with terrorists in that war.
