Take a couple of nine to ten-feet fishing rods. Lot of folks spend June fishing off the beach in N.C., usually Cape Hatteras, and thereabouts.

An umbrella,
sunglasses,
bathing suit,
sunscreen,
towels,
sandals,
something like a boogie board/or surfboard to entertain yourselves in the water,
a beach chair if you're going to sit.

ooh which beach?
I would take beach towels, a beach chair, sunscreen, sunglasses, a beach hat, & a cooler with cold drinks inside.

If you are going to North Carolina, then you might need to pack a winter coat. Maybe bring some snow boots, gloves, hats, and whatever else you have to keep you warm. I would also suggest bringing some trees that you can plant in the sand for maximum shade!
