In the song "All I Wanna Do I Make Love To You," in the last verse, she bumps into the guy she had the one-night-stand with and says, "You can imagine his suprise / When he saw his own eyes"... What does that mean? Did she get pregnant by him that night and have his son? Or is it just a way of saying that he's suprised to see her with someone?
And then the part that goes, "Please, please understand / I'm in love with another man / And what he couldn't give me / Is the one little thing that you can"... What is that saying? Was she already married when she slept with him, and thus, was cheating on her husband? Does her husband think that their son is his? For some reason, this is a remarkably confusing verse for me. Please enlighten me, all you lyrical interpretive geniuses! =)

Yes she did get pregnant and the eyes he is seeing are those of his son. Yes she cheated on her husband. She doesn't want her one night stand to be upset that she never tried to contact him and tell him that he had a child, so she is pleading with him to be understanding. Her husband thinks the child is his and she doesn't want to lose her husband.

Sounds like she was married but couldn't have a child with her husband. She had a one night stand and got pregnant. When she sees the "one night stand" again, he is surprised to see that the child looks like him "when he saw his own eyes".
That's what I got out of the song.

Here is my take on the song. Basically, she has a one night stand and ends up pregnant. "We walked in the garden, we planted a tree." This was a planned event as the person she was in a relationship was not able to provide that for her, for whatever reason. And then later on she runs into the one night stand and he recognizes himself in her child's features and realizes he is the father.

The baby was his, she couldn't have kids with her husband and looked elsewhere just to get pregnant. Its pretty much very clear in the song. Very self explanatory, more so than many songs are.

her husband was shooting blanks and she needed a "seed" from this guy so she and he... (did the nasty) and she got knocked up but she wasn't looking for a daddy, just a donor. The kid looked like him.
