oh man, i feel your pain! that was me for the first 4 months of my pregnancy. I swore that i was going to have a brain anurism or something because of all the pressure! It was almost daily, first i blamed my contacts so i kept them out, which didnt help. I hate to take medications so even though they said i could take tylenol i didnt. I tried a peppermint tea-didnt help, hot towels on my forehead and back of my neck- minor relief, laying in the dark with my eyes closed- minor relief, eating more regularly- didnt take away the headaches but took my mind off them, deep breaths (like meditative)-minor relief from additional oxygen to the brain, increase water consumption- minor relief. I asked my doctor and she said do whatever i could to get relief but that since it was caused by hormones there was nothing else i could really do, luckily one day they just stopped on their own, i actually had forgotten all about them until i read your question. so do whatever you can to ease the pain, unfortunately naps are my best advice, and remember it will pass.
good luck

Depending on the severity of the headaches your Dr. may give you medication to help you cope with the pain also: caffeine can definitely help, I know you want to be cautious with this while pregnant but I'd rather drink a small iced coffee than have to take a bunch of medication. cooling gel things. You can get them at the drugstore, they are sticky and they last for about 3 hours. Stick one to your forehead and one to the back of your neck and you can at least use your hands while getting relief (look near the heat packs and muscle relaxants there's a few different brands). stay hydrated I'm still amazed by how much more difficult this is during pregnancy. Frequent small meals when I get hungry I get a headache. Don sunglasses before leaving the house, and don't remove them until your back inside. I feel for anyone who has to suffer like this, and I really hope these suggestions help you get some relief.

While it is very common during the early pregnancy, be sure to check your blood pressure. If it comes out normal, then nothing much to worry. Also exclude other possible problems that may be causing that- eye strain for instance. If you have an anemia as an effect of pregnancy, it could also lead to headache. Be careful not to take just any medicine- paracetamol is known as being safe analgesic during pregnancy.

YES!! That definately happened to me. I never had morning sickness at all but boy did I have headaches. They were horrible!! Try a washrag with hot hot water on it and place it on your head while you are laying down, or cold if you prefer that better. That seemed to help me for a little while at least. They will ease up later on, Mine stopped in the middle of my 2md trimester and I have not even had one in my 3rd trimester. I hope you get to feeling better, it is just all those hormones!

I had terrible headaches my whole pregnancy and after as well. Finally my doc gave me migraine meds and it helped. I think the best thing you can do during pregnancy is take Tylenol and relax as much as possible.

don't panic i got these its just due to your hormones some people get them some don't its a bit like sickness I'm 34 weeks and have found there starting to come back but theres nothing to worry about its perfectly normal try taking some paracetamol when its really bad and this is safe to take in pregnancy.

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

i am pregnant right now and have had this same problem. i figured out what the majority of it is. are you eating enough during the day? i learned youre supposed to eat smaller portions about every two hours and make sure you keep yourself hydrated. drink plenty of water. the first time i figured that out and did it, i had a bit more energy during the day and no headache. it was fabulous!

yes. the only thing that helped was a ridiculous amount of water. turns out i was dehydrated even though I drank lots of water! I had about 20 water bottles a day and the headaches stopped.
