You are a naive man. Women can do whatever they want with their hair! It's not yours. Who in their right mind asks permission from their husband to cut their hair? That's why gender roles need to get a reality check! So I guess you think women should stay at home and wash and cook too? Oh and I can't forget the long skirts and pink bow. Whatever! Dude, get a clue.

You poor man, you really don't know in which era you live, do you? If any man ever tried to tell me how I could or could not wear my hair, I would buy a pair of hair clippers, shave my head bald, all the while, smiling like a Cheshire cat! Then I'd go get a tat on my scalp with the one-fingered wave and each time I lowered my cute lil' bald head, control freaks, such as yourself, would get the silent message. You don't reside in America, do you? Annie

They should not, but those women are probably married to closet queens who like the short hair because when they are doing it doggie style at night with the lights out he can make believe his partner is a dude.
Is this the best answer or what?

In order for this question to be fair, it should be safe to assume that men shouldn't wear long hair, right?
That said, I consult my husband on everything that I do, out of respect. If he said "no", I would consider and respect his answer. But "allow" is such a harsh word. He does not own me and could not force my hand.

Men don't allow a woman to do anything. Women are free individuals are can do anything they would like with their hair.

The hair is on the woman's head, it is her choice. That has always been a sore subject with my dad, he likes long hair, but he has three daughters and a wife and we all cut our hair short at some point. It is only hair, it's not like we are peeing standing up.

Are you crazy ? Women are very capable of controlling their lives, and it is noone's decision but their own on how they choose to wear their hair. A hairstyle is not something that defines the gender of a person. Most people of today are aware of that.

OK, I just cut my hair off and donated it to the Locks Of Love for children with cancer. So, what is the problem with women with short hair? Have a good day, dear. =)

Ahhhh, Sandstorm, my dear. Your name is highly appropriate. You really like to kick up the dust, don't you? You know half the women out there would want to castrate you for some of your "observations" and questions!
If it is the length of hair that determines gender, which is one point you make, you will lose the argument immediately as you know. The one I loved more than all, a very powerful and dynamic warrior, had hair to his waist until it was burned off in a bomb blast last year. I loved brushing it for him as a means to relax and just as part of my caring for him. He has, at 65, more masculinity in his little finger than most western men have in their entire being. Did his long braided hair make him effeminate when he stood before his troops?
As for being "allowed" to cut or grow hair to please one's mate, I feel, as I do in ALL things, that it is a matter of how it is dealt with. Things should be mutually agreed upon and I am a big believer in compromise. Muslim women are not allowed to have "mannish" hair cuts but shorter hair is fine. Just so long as there is no chance of gender confusion.
When my beloved asked me if I would consider growing my hair long for him, I was happy to do it because in pleasing him I was also pleasing myself. But then, in all truth, there was nothing he could ask of me that I would not outdo myself in to make him smile. He could have asked me to walk 1000 miles to sit at his feet and I would happily have done so. Growing my hair was nothing.
But I digress. Even when I had my hair half way down my back, his was much longer than mine. Finally I had mine lopped off at shoulder where it is now. Healthiness of the hair is primary. Long hair just for the sake of long hair is foolish.
And I will speak honestly here, kiddo, a real man wants a woman, not a doormat. You seem to be heading in the doormat direction if your questions of the past few months are anything to go by. Do you want a child or a partner who acknowledges the equality of the sexes but celebrates the differences?
