No it's just a way to put new perspective on the problem. You know the saying, things look better, in the light of day, well I think that applies with the saying, sleep on it.

I suppose it's better than drinking them away or smoking or gambling them away but sooner or later the problem needs to be addressed and sometimes the problem can and will-(I learned from experience) get bigger.
I can see taking a walk to collect your thoughts before blowing up and letting things get out of hand but to delay a solution is NOT an answer.
I believe in the old saying,"Don't go to bed mad at one another" I thinkif you do then it becomes the "norm" to feel that disconnect. Who wants a relationship like that?! Not me.
Hope you guys talk it out soon.Good luck.

No, sometimes I've slept on things and somewhere in the middle of the night, when it's all quiet and there aren't a million things intruding, I find some clarity and can see things for what they really are. I've made some good, quality decisions that way.

Sometimes I just need to calm down and think about things in the morning with a clear head. I find that there are times when my emotions get the best of me

No. When I sleep on something I can figure out a solution in the morning when I am less angry or less stressed or less whatever. Sleeping on something is not the same as forgetting about it.

You rarely "forget" problems. Sleeping on it just delays dealing with the issue.

..."sleeping on it", it's something to give you a break, and breathe...Try to brainstorm a way to solve your problem on the next day, don't put it off for too long, or the plm(s) would just get worse down the road...Avoid that if YOU can with inner "strength".
Again if you have 1 or more plms, then you should talk to someone for guidance so you can get through it easier.
Good luck mi amiga...

I think it actually works. I usually get a new perspective on my problems in the morning and get a clearer picture of where to go from here.

No -- the best solutions to complex problems come after considerable thought. Weigh all the options.

I think that if theres a problem that would require me to "sleep on it" that i'm definitely NOT getting to sleep that night.
