fordman is correct. Effective termite control is well beyond a homeowners ability. A side benefit is most termite control companies guarantee their work by replacing any termite damaged wood at their expense.

The initial treatment will include drilling thru car port/garage slabs and other treatment. My initial treatment was about $300 and my annual cost/inspection/treatment is $85.

Call a professional, they have chemicals that the termites will carry back to the colony and kill them all off

I have also heard that if you change your own oil, that you can pour the used oil around the foundation of your house. With the EPA today, they may not like you doing that, but that was an old time remedy. Good luck. Don't wait to get it taken care of, those boys eat 24 hrs a day and will do some damage.

-Termites will always be around your house. All treatment does is provide your home with a protective barrier to prevent the termites from getting in and the ones inside will not be able to leave and die..
- remove all firewood resting against your house would be the 1st thing I do..
- 2nd if your house is 20 years or older get it treated ASAP..
- 3rd- Don't do it yourself..
