schindlers list

I think the one that made a big impression in my life has got to be What Dreams May Come starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Annabella Scioria, and Robin Williams. This movie is about what happens to us when we die and either go to Heaven, or Hell. Alot of controversy has been brought about because of this film, but I love it anyway.

I do have to say this though, I never really let Hollywood impact my life. I just thought this movie was great and it really made me think.

If you have never watched it, I recommend it.

Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. These are the movies that really solidified my love of horror films, although i was too young to watch any of them when they were first released.

I saw Halloween II for the first time when it was aired on television in the later part of the 80s, same with Nightmare and Friday movies. I was probably 8 or 9 years old. Ever since then i have been a fan of horror.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy (as well as the books) has really influenced the way I look at art and writing, both of which are major parts of my life. The world that Tolkien and then Peter Jackson created is still one of the most vast and believable in the fantasy genre'- the level of artistic effort put into it is amazing! The story is also full of good values and messages of hope which helped me through some difficult times.

Through my interest in LOTR I've met several new and awesome friends, and have found something that both my mother and I can share interest in. So, The Lord of the Rings has influenced my life in a large way. I'm glad. ^_^

Every good movie I've watched has given me food for thought but there isn't any specific film that I could say has actually made a great impact upon my life, at least not one that lasts longer than a short while after I've left the theater.

Wow, too many to think of one, but most recently "Pan's Labyrinth" because I can very much relate to the young girl's wish to use extreme escapism to deal with a harsh reality. Like many have said already, "Schindler's List" is another one. That is without a doubt a "make you seriously revaluate everything" movie. Also "American Beauty" is a fav of mine for showing that life, and all of us in it, can be totally messed up yet still be somehow beautiful. It also has one of the simplest and best tag lines ever in a film: "Look closer."

The movie that I think had a profound moment in my life is Roberto Benigni's "Life Is Beautiful". I had never watched a foreign film that I liked before. I wasn't even going to watch this one, because I hated dubbed movies. I am so glad I did. It touched my heart so much. I had watched many Holocaust movies before and I was touched by them all, but this movie was so beautiful. I recommend it so highly. If you never see this movie, you have truly missed out on a great piece of cinema and history.

I can honestly say there are three movies that have had a profound affect on my life; in that it altered my perception of self, interaction with those around me, and my views of reality: they are in no particular order, the five people you meet in heaven, Jon Voight, Ellen Burstyn, Michael Imperioli, Jeff Daniels, and Dagmara Dominczyk. it really changed my view in regards to not only my perception of others, but in how lasting and far reaching the in teraction, and the affect we have on others, and they on us.
what the bleep do we know? alters my views on reality and life through the juxstaposition of religeon, psychology, and quantim physics (quantum metaphysics?), and third, to answer the questions of life the universe and everything, not the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, but rather a deliciousview through the answe by the revelation of..."the secret". in this we are shown the simplistic answers to control our lives and destiny by applying the scientific principles of the universal law of attraction: i.e. " like attracts like. although i am more than familiar in a physics sense of this principle, i am just at the start of applying it to my own circumstances and interactions. There is a common theme in all thesemovies and how they have affected me...how to understand and get by, in the common, complex , notion of how the hell do I get by in this life without totaly screwing up myself, or anyone else?
