SKin pigmentation means nothing no one is the same color but if it is such a national issue that only 8% of baseball players ae black why is there no concern over the % of White NBA players? Racism goes both ways.

Racism in the past results in over analyzing of statistics. If we lived in a mainly black society I could see things flipped around. But i agree the racism angle should go both ways.

The outcry over the lack of African Americans in the MLB is not too loud. However, there is an outcry because Jackie Robinson is being celebrated for integrating baseball. It's his anniversary or something. That's why it's coming up now. People are just saying that there aren't a lot of blacks playing baseball when Jackie Robinson, a black man, was an amazing baseball player who integrated the game. It's not as big of a deal as you say it seems. It's not a national issue either. Also, who says their is no concern over the percentage of white NBA players. I'd say there are much more white players in the NBA then there are black players in the MLB. It;s not necessarily racism either.

Neither is a result of racism. There are more great Latino baseball players these days than American, white or black. There are also more great Black American basketball players that White American. You can't force every ethnic group to have the same interest in every sport.

i was thinking the same exact thing. the only thing that i came up with is that african americans used to not be able to play in the professional leagues. white people never had that happened to them. but another point is that if they want to put the whole racism thing behind, then they have to make it equal and both ways by talking about the percentage of white people in the NFL and NBA. In the NFl there are no white starting cornerbacks or tailbacks.

most black people (not all) like to whine about anything and are always trying to get someyhing for nothing and have groups like the naacp to fight for the nonwhites. Yet nonwhites seem to get more breaks and government programs then anybody else take for exmample college scolarships, small bussiness start ups and several other programs that are only available to nonwhites but yet there are no programs available to only caucasions because that would be dicrimination but yet the other programs that benefit nonwhites only are not discrimination

Because, Blacks are not showing an interest, in Baseball...White people are showing an intrest in Basketball, their just aren't many that make the NBA.......Thats the best way I can put it, without some idiot calling me "raciest".
