I know that they don't HAVE to rhyme.
But if you're making one, is it okay if you considentally have a rhyme?
Ex.

Sun brightly shining
Flowers blooming all around
Bright colors surround

[surround+around]

Well, it's an interesting concept...the question, however, is how far removed can you write haiku before it's no longer haiku? The only part that is haiku'ish (good grief! did I say that out loud?) is the beat requirements. Why? besides the fact that haiku don't rhyme... haiku doesn't use capital letters haiku don't have titles the third line of a haiku is a parallel statement to the first two traditional haiku possess "season" words On the other hand, whether haiku or not, the "poems" are clever, and I probably like the first one the best. Triplets are difficult to do well because they tire the ear, but your first and third are still fresh...the second one is hampered by the repetition of "us" for all three lines, although it was a good experiment. ...keep writing

i would say its ok. really the only rule about Haiku is the 5-7-5 syllable scheme. also, if it is more than 3 lines long, it is not allowed to end on a 7 syllable line.

i guess its ok. the only rule i ever heard for a haiku is for it to have 5 sylables (spelling???) in the first line, 7 sylables in the second line, and 5 sylables in the third line. hope this helps!!!
