I don't like the idea either. He's a icon for kids. He's Harry Potter. I know he's old enough to make his own decisions, but he's got a responsiblity to the youth. Some kid sees him star in that movie/play then what will the kid think of that? If he want's to do things like Equus, then he should stop being Harry Potter. He's got a responsiblity and he should stick to it!

It's a play and no one really cares if you don't like the idea because he was already in the play and the play was a long time ago. He already did the play. Equus is in the past now. Your a little bit behind, honey.

And anyways, he's not JUST Harry Potter. He's Daniel Radcliffe and he can act in anything he wants to be. He was in Equus not just because of the nude part, because he wanted to do an adult thing. In case you haven't noticed, he's getting old for Harry Potter, but nevertheless, he still wants to do the part of Harry Potter so be happy for that.

Equus is not a kids play. It's a mature adult play. He's 17. He can't be playing Harry Potter for the rest of his life.

i do like the idea that he is in the play Equus,
it's different for him, and im happy for him.

he's tryin to get away from the "Harry Potter" person people think of him as because he is not only Harry Potter. He is also doing two other movies, December Boys and My Boy Jack, both also different from Harry Potter.

any choice of movie or play Daniel will do, i'll always support him =]<3

It's what he wants to do at the end of the day,
It's what he's good at
It'd be terrible if he was typecasted.
He's probably just trying to stop that.
You wouldn't want people to know you a Harry Potter for the rest of your life.
Take Ian McKellen.
He can't be typecasted because of the range of characters he has played, and thats what Dan is doing, improving his range.

He would be self-destructing his own career if he stayed focused on playing Harry Potter for the next 2-3 years. We wouldn't want anymore Danny Bonaduci's running around (YUCK!).

and this attitude is why some actors have themselves typecast into certain roles all of their lives.

good for Radcliffe that he is able to do something else with his talent and not remain a "one note" actor.

It's not an idea.
It's reality.
He's been doing it for months.
Good for him.
He can't be Harry Potter for ever.
Give him a break.
He's an actor with a good carreer ahead of him.

It just makes me want to laugh.
But hey, he's an actor, and he wants to break the Potter mold, I'm sure. I just don't want to picture it in my mind...ewww
I hear it was well received, though
