Marriage should only be between a man and a woman otherwise you are opening up Pandora's box. While gays say it is their 'right'--what about the rights of children. Children have a right to a 2 parent home consisting of a mom/dad. The kid has a right not to be teased & harassed all through his/her years of going to school. Also--just because someone disagrees with the 'gay' lifestyle does not make them homophobic. The truth is that the gays are the ones who are afraid--afraid of us not accepting their lifestyle as 'normal', so the true saying should be that the gays are in fact heterophobic.

Homosexuals have been denied the equal right to marry for so long that many have grown to aspire to marriage as a triumph over being regarded as fourth class citizens their entire lives. Heterosexuals have had the luxury of taking marriage for granted.

If you feel that the stability or "sanctity" of your marriage relationship is seriously threatened by gay marriage, perhaps you have other issues.

Any couple of any gender that can keep a relationship together for 8 years is "beating the odds" for divorce.

Face the ugly statistics; heteros have not done all that well in keeping things together. Why should they claim the right to set standards?

Most sane people do not find it appropriate. Yet your question points out one of the major problems today. You
see, morality, what is right and wrong, what is good and bad
really is not a matter of what we personally find objectionable or acceptable.

Today, so many think that morality is merely a matter of what an individual or a community accepts of finds okay. To those that are in that group, I often want to ask them a question. A question such as: If the neighborhood decides that is acceptable or okay to burn the house of a particular family or to assault the people that live there, does that make it right or moral?

Morality has never been a matter of what we like or think. It has been and will remain a matter of what God said is and is not acceptable or proper to him. Yes, people have many objections to this and can find many arguments, yet that changes nothing at all. God does not need our approval and what we think never does sway what God finds acceptable.

no i don't believe in gay marriage. marriage is between a man and a woman as GOD has intended. he destroyed sodom and gomorrah just for this reason so why is it that people say that this is an exceptable lifestyle to lead. i just don't get it. how can you say that you are both gay and religious b/c all religions reject this way of life. there just is no such thing as a gay muslim/christian/buhddist/jew. they are all rejected by their faiths. and the sad thing is the mainstream media is trying to push this on us by introducing gay characters in most of our shows and teaching our kids that this is an ok way of life. it's not.

The only reason gay people don't have the legal right to marry is because in the united states the largest house hold income is a home with 2 men and we don't spend our money on children so if the government can tax us as individual they can get a piece of the money we have if we had the right to marry we would get taxed as a couple and would pay less... our government is based on a separation of church and state... so therefore if your church does not want to marry gay people that would be their choice but our government should not have the right to deny us the privileges of marriage... If my partner was in the hospital from a heart attack I would not be allowed to see him because I have no relation to him and we are not married we loose rights after death to our partners estate which if he has no relatives our government gets to keep the money... do you see a pattern here the government of the united states could care less about religion all they see are dollar signs...

I don't believe in it either. No matter what new laws they are trying to put into place.. I will never ever support that type of lifestyle. I'll never refer to a homosexual couple as "married" no matter what kind of certificate they may have. It's sin and it's wrong.. plain and simple.

No I do not believe it is right. The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. Society tries to force everyone to accept these things whether we want to or not....and now the government is to ...to some extent. I will not accept it. They can believe it is right all they want and do what they want....but I still do not believe in it nor will I uphold it in anyway and I do not want the idea forced upon me. (And I will not apoligize for saying it's wrong).

Addition:
...To the "Littleviv" person below....This is one nation under God in case anyone has forgotten. Frankly, if you want to come here and force an idea on me just because you do not believe in "my God" you can go back to where you came from and be miserable.

I believe that society has now succeeded in making something which is a definite sin against god into what has become the norm. Our men want to have threesomes with their wives, and watch them have sex with another woman. A sexual preference is that and nothing more, some people want to have sex only with young children, that is also a sexual preference, but it is, thank god still considered morally wrong. Let us stop justifying these wrongdoings and let them know that what you choose to do behing closed doors is your business, do not bring it out into the open and expect us all to conform to it. We would become another Sodom and Gomorrah.

Yes, I do.

And who cares if it is against your God? This is America, a land filled with people of different religions, not just yours, so saying it is against YOUR God doesn't mean crap, because your God isn't always going to be their God. And you know what, if four adults want to get married, I see nothing wrong with that as long as they can all handle it and aren't forcing anyone to do it.
