I would say that everyone needs to learn how to accept people for who they are.
Accept that not everyone is going to behave or believe as you do.
Respect others as you would want to be respected (I know, sounds like "The Golden Rule", but its true)
Of course there are exceptions to every rule. Everyone has the right to defend themselves if attacked, just dont be the aggressor.
