Does anyone else think metal will come back into mainstream music? I've been listening to it for over 10 years and watching many bands mature and evolve. I think that it is only a matter of time before it will come back in a big way.

(Band examples: Hatebreed, Throwdown, Poison the Well, Diecast, Shadows Fall, Chimeria, Winter Solstice. . .the list goes on)

It's all about marketing. The only way that heavy metal is going to come back is if any other major genre of music falls apart. Metal became popular once the Big Hair bands like Poison, Van Halen and Bon Jovi started to fall by the wayside.

Remember boy bands? Yeah, they were going to be around forever. That was a little over ten years ago. How many boy bands are there now? Zero. Some have solo careers, but as a group, it won't work.

People are so fickle, and the way that Hip-Hop/Rap keep putting out new artists and catchy songs which serve absolutely no purpose other than to drive you insane because the song is so stupid (For further information, read the lyrics to 'This is Why I'm Hot'), it is unlikely that heavy metal will go back to what it was. I would love for it to return, because these so-called "rock artists" like Fall Out Boy, Panic, and My Chemical Romance should all burned at a stake by real rockers like Metallica, Judas Preist, Sabbath, and Motorhead.

All stages of music RETURN sooner or later, if only briefly.
