No.
1) For reasons that other have already stated, people (especially the government) would figure out who the Batman was relatively quickly. And then they'd put a stop to his activities.
2) Also for reasons that have mostly been stated, unless Batman has much better body armor than exists today, he's going to get shot and killed. Believing that Batman hasn't been fatally shot over the twenty or so years he's been doing his thing n the comics (Yes, I realize that he was created in 1939, but my math is based on the assumption that he's about 40 now in the comics and he's been Batman since he was 20.) takes a lot of suspension of disbelief-- even with all his training. That's fine in a fictional setting like comics, but in reality it wouldn't happen that way.
3) The existence of a single person who has all of the skills that Batman has is almost completely unbelievable-- even if you take into account his single-minded dedication. His knowledge of combat, engineering & technolgy, psychology, science, humanities, acrobatics, medicine, machinery manipulation (e.g. flying planes & controlling submarines) and criminology would take more than a single lifetime to build. And even if someone spent that lifetime, they still wouldn't necessarily have the physical and mental abilities to pull it off. Basically it would demand someone who is an Olympic athlete and a Nobel scientist at the same time. The Olympians and Nobel prize winners that I know of have already shown insane dedication to their fields without having been able to come even close to the top of the other areas in Batman's areas of expertise.
I actually don't think I would want a Batman to exist-- at least not unless he had an official government role as a police officer or government agent. Otherwise he'd be a loose cannon enforcing his own interpreatation of the laws, and I wouldn't want that in reality.

Maybe. I would like to think so. The problem is, there are too many well-intentioned law enforcement officials out there who would not take his word for it that he was a good guy and would insist on tracking him down, just to find out who he was. This would take a lot of their attention off of real crime and the crime problem in the streets might be worse as a result.
Second, those overzealous law officials have lots of resources, too. They have some very bright people at figuring out who you are from slim clues. Remember the Unabomber? Or a lot of other bad guys that they eventually tracked down? [OK, maybe he wasn’t the best example, his brother turned him in. But you get the idea.] Tiny microfiber traces are almost impossible to eliminate. Shoot Batman with some specially made microfibers and then grid off all of Gotham and check each square until you find a high concentration of the special fibres: Batcave HQ! Use security cameras to measure Batman’s height and then go to the Registry of Motor Vehicles and start going through the list of all the men that height.
Don’t get me wrong. I would love to see a Batman. But the odds are against him. So, until Superman or Green Lantern comes around….

I don't think anyone could make it as a superhero who wasn't bullet proof. If Batman was coming after you wouldn't you just shoot the guy in the face. Next bat lines don't really work that well, look at the movies. It works in Spider-man b/c his web can attach to anything and he just make another one. He also has super leaping. The Batman does not. Batman would be stuck in traffic just like the rest of us, in any city. For a hero to work in the real world. He/she would have to fly or have powers like the Flash. Anyone who would get slowed down by a bullet would not last very long. I also don't think their is enough crime for a superhero to stay busy. Shortly after they made superheroes in comics they came up with super-villains for them to fight.

I think there should be a lot of batman out there already. There are indeed many people who are brave and stand for justice.
I wish Batman really exist. He can bring so much hope to this world. But we cannot wait for Batman or superman or someone like them to show up, we have to do our part to make sure this world is not "crazy". hehe
Also, I hope Batgirl exist, too. so I can play my part. :)

i don't think it is possible because of the following... a CEO of a company to have access to anything is a bit farfetch'd even with lots of money. Next to be technologically advanced, much more than the military is next to impossible but it can happen. And lastly if a super hero did exist in todays world im sure the governments would be cracking down on this guy to get any advanced tech. as they can. You don't see it in comics but in todays world if a superman did exist im sure they try to capture this person and discover his/her power and duplicate it for themselves.

It could be possible, if someone was trained properly and had the skill (or money) to make/buy Batman style gadgets (batarang, grappling hook, diamond reinforced handcuffs, e.t.c.)

No. Like everyone said, he could get killed easily, and it wouldn't be long before someone figures out his identity. However, a real-life Punisher is possible....
