i think that people shouldnt be able to say "imus" and "al sharpton". they're both full of crap, and maybe if we all stop paying attention, they'll go away forever.

I can't even take Rev.Sharpten's position seriously. There is such a double standard with regards to racial and/or offensive remarks. Just look at the lyrics in many if not most rap songs. The "N" word is used with impunity within the black community but when mentioned by any other cultures all hell breaks lose. I don't agree with Imus's statement, I think it was a poor remark but the publicity surrounding it is rediculous.
He apologized so Sharpten and all his cronies should drop the issue. Besides, does anyone really give a **** what either Sharpten or Imus have to say?

The white community will never understand, why was Don Imus fired after he has appologisedd million times. Does it mean that black people don't like to forgive but like to be forgiven, and use Jesus Christ as an excuse for their mistakes. White people should organise their own organisations to protect not only Caucasians, but Asian, Hispanics and others.
They should admitt it, otherwise this is a war between African-Americans and humans.

The best of the list
*The Rutgers "ladies" basketball team.
The rest on the list are, in one way or another, objectionable or make unnecessary reference to the racial composition of the team.
The gross hypocrisy in this whole affair is that the athletes, of all races, trashtalk one another with the same denigrating remarks made by Imus, if you've ever been to one of their games or overheard them when being televised, then you'd know this to be true.

Words can't be banned. How in the H*E*L*L would that be enforced? That comes under the heading of Morality, and that can't be legislated. The best we can hope to do is change the attitudes of the idiots who USE offensive words. If nobody listens to them, and nobody pays any attention to them, their comments will fall on deaf ears. Spending weeks demanding official apologies and discussing the social ramifications of their words only VALIDATE them. And, can we change the attitudes of those people who spend all their time running around just LOOKING for things to be offended by? Everybody just needs to lighten UP!

I have a black friend who can say "******" to another black, but I can't because I'm not black. I'm tired of two or more standards being used. Get over it, whoever you are. By the way, I read ****** in Tom Sawyer, but never heard it used until some black actor said it. As for banning words, they only hurt if you let them, and I like freedom of speech. I doubt most people would like to be censored, but I think most people also don't intend to be hurtful. Any word could be hurtful if you define it to be.

the word sharpton should be banned as well as the person strutting about raving about how great he is. Since rev al's comment seemed to be most distraught over the term ho I guess that must go.
Too bad for a team that lost so much respect by being backed by rev al and his search for glory.

Both Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should be banned. They both think they are Martin Luther King and they only come around when their race needs defending.
