why doesnt my primer work ?

I have a briggs&stratton 3.5 push mower and it wont prime.

I have to ask, is there gas in the tank? The primer bulb could be cracked and leaking air. The carburetor could be dirty internally and not allowing gas to get to the primer. The pickup tube that runs from the carb into the gas tank has a fine screen over the end. It could be clogged.

EIGHTER THERE IS A WHOLE IN IT OR YOU ARE NOT GETTING GASS TO IT .. TRY PUTTING GAS DIRECTLY INTO CARBURATER ITS UNDER THE AIR CLEANER BUT////////// BE VARY CAREFULL ITS NOT WORTH GETTING HURT FOR...
