How much water is there (and how it's distributed) is one of the big ones. Also what the weather is like, geological information about the planets history, and any evidence of bio-chemical compounds that might imply life or past life on the planet.

Water of some description, and any kind of bacterial-based life that might be living off it. So when we finish destroying this planet we can move onto the next one.
