if you can pick up another outfielder that is decent off of waivers, i would definitely do it.
any chance you have to get a premier player like that with out giving up another premier player, that is a good thing.

I would do the trade in a heartbeat. Soriano may have started slow but he is a 5 tool Outfielder who was one of the first outfielders taken in 98% of Yahoo drafts. You can always find a outfielder an firstbaseman on waivers that will but up the same if not better numbers that Matsui an Swisher.

No brainer, any time you can get a top 5 overall player for solid guys then do the deal. Swisher hits for such a low average he isnt a great starter in the 1st place and matsui is solid but he wont hit nearly as many HR or steal any bases. If the other guy is actually willing to make the deal then you need to accept.

100%- although I'm a big fan of Swisher, and Soriano has been underperforming, Matsui is injured and overvalued. This is basically a straight up for Soriano, which is definitely worth it.

Heck yeah. Matsui is injured I think. Swisher is a crap shoot. Soriano gets you power and speed. Do it.

they're attempting to flow Larry Hughes, yet he has different years left on the deal. If the Nets truly provided Bobby Simmons, they were stupid no longer to take it, because he has a shorter deal. i do not imagine he will be moved. Noah and Thomas will generate moderate activity, Thomas more effective than Noah, yet they could't get some thing important decrease back for them. The movable products are Gooden and Hinrich and they could genuinely get some value for both or both one among those adult adult males. they want a huge guy with placed up skills badly. The Kings have had their eye on Gooden for decades now, yet with the emergence of Jason Thompson, i do not imagine that they had commerce Brad Miller for Gooden now.

depends on the rest of your line up... if soriano fills a void, and you don't need the other two, then go for it
