It's a complete 'turn' of an object around its axis, or one complete 'orbit' of a satellite around its companion.
It can also be a bunch of guys with guns 'n stuff overthrowing a government, but I suspect that's not the meaning you wanted ☺

It can mean more than one thing. If something is moving in a closed path [IE it moves around a bit, generally in an ellipse or circle] then a revolution is one pass. If its spinning, a single revolution takes it 2pi radians [or 360 degrees, or 400 gradians] back to where you started.
It is also often used to mean when the upper castes of society and the people in power are forcibly removed from power by the lower working peasant class.

revolution is actualy change in the backward thoughts of people . it is a wake up call for the new developements. it is very useful for new generations , they get better environments to work . revolutions takes place after a long time but brings happiness to all .revolutions takes place mostly by the middle class of society aiming for better future.

Revolution is when a planet goes all the way around the sun. It is very easy to get this confused with rotation, but that is when a planet spins. One earth revolution is 365.25 days. an earth rotation is 24hrs. hope this helps
