i live in minnesota a firend of mines boyfirend moved here from california he hasen't had a job since he moved here says he don't have a ID because his birth certificate is in california... how dose he go about getting it

He will have to apply for a new copy of his birth certificate. He can order one online at vitalchek.com, but that requires a credit card. By the sounds of it, your friend isn't really responsible enough for a credit card, so you may be out of luck. He'll just have to go back to California to get it.

Sounds like a loser to me.
Nobody sits around in a far off state and gives up on life because they didn't bring a birth cert, with them.

Get new friends...this one is going to be trouble

Usually, you can have someone pick up a copy on your behalf at the courthouse where you were born. You probably can't order it.
