I'm not talking about the producer Bernard. He was worse than Imus. I'm talking about production assistants and such. What about the Imus ranch for kids with cancer and other blood diseases? Imus may have done a bad thing but he's also done a lot of good. He has been punished over and over for what he said and so have employees who had little or nothing to do with the Imus schtick. The backlash has affected so many more people that it doesn't seem fair. The punishment so exceeds the crime.

It's a mass conspiracy to eliminate free speech in America. If you don't like Imus, why do people listen to him? I don't like Al or JJ either, so I don't listen to them.

Frankly, it was up to IMUS to consider his employees. Obviously, none of them are black and if even one of them was black, I'm sure he/she was not in the room at the time. And any foundations that he started should be looking at him and holding him responsible for any losses suffered for being a complete idiot.

At the end of the day, he is supposed to be a professional.

Seriously, "nappy-headed hoes"? Where's the professionalism in that? And what, pray tell, does THAT have to do with basketball?

*********** I also wonder if the reaction...or lack of reaction in some...would be different if perhaps he made disparing comments towards the Jews or Hispanics or if he picked a white player, looked over his/her history and said something like,

"I wonder how trailer park trash made it to the big leagues"?

*****I'm just using an example here for demonstrative purposes. I don't know any demographic for personal background info on any Rutger basketball players. And furthermore, I don't believe there's a such thing as trailer park trash. It's just the most negative stereotype associated with poor white communities.

His comments WERE racist and those who suggest it isn't are burying their heads in the sand.

No other race on this planet has been called "nappy-headed" and it's not a coincidence that most of the Rutgers team is black.

Just calling them a bunch of whores is enough, but to add such a racist and demeaning descriptor was totally uncalled for.

****And for those saying rappers do it....SO WHAT?! THEY are wrong, too. And I'm sorry to say it...when a white man gets on a nationally syndicated show and chooses, of all times, to denegrate and jide women and in this case, women of color, it's not the same as when another person of color says the same thing in jest.

******Ever hear the saying, "I can say what I want to about my brother but you'd better be careful?" That's like the difference between you calling you mother a B---- because you're mad at her and one of her friends feeling comfortable enough to say it for whatever reason. IT'S NOT GOING TO FLY AND YOU'D BE READY TO FIGHT OVER IT.

The same holds true here. Besides, I don't recall that a black commentator was a part of the conversation.

It WAS racist, he was WRONG and I think it took TOO LONG to fire him.
