I was just watching the news media and I was pretty much disgusted by what I saw, not with the Inus situation but with the media itself. NBC and CBS were condemming Inus for what he said but in reality they were the ones who hired him in the first place so who's fault is it really? Another point I have to make is why do rappers get by degrading women, African Americans, and other people while one white guy says one thing and he is considered a racist? I believe that no one has the right to say racist remarks on the air and getting rewarded for it. I am mostly upset by the major networks but mostly with the FCC for not doing their jobs. I believe the FCC is mostly to blame for all the media junk n our society. I called the FCC up one day because I saw something on TV where they spoke nothing but degrading words and their advice was just to change the channel and it was my choice for watching it or not. Is that the solution for our society, to just change the channel? Who is to blame?

I guess this is what America calls freedom of speech. Me being a African America female, it disgusted me to watch rap and hip hop videos with woman half naked and and men fully dressed groping over them. But I also have to look at it like this, I am not doing it. The respect for women is no longer her anymore. Especial for black women. Mostly because of whats being put out on the media. It is no one faults but our own (African American) if white think most of us as "nappy headed hoes" if thats what our people are advertising. I am so sick of this issue. There is a big difference in saying a racist remark, and saying what you see on TV. What Imus said was just plain wrong, those were educated women out there. The problem is, rappers and other black artist are saying it about there own people, which to me is worse. They are the one that are surpose to be examples because those are the people that are being the most advertise. Maybe if we stop buying there degrading music, and stop showing there video's on public television, and take the spot light off of them there will be a change.

Something else we have to look at is money. You have to remember that America is based on making money and "bettering the economy". The rap industry brings in a lot of money. What makes it so bad is that a lot of it comes from people other than blacks. As long as they pay their taxes they are considered ok. America has became a country that has no more morals and are all about makinig money.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with rapping. Rapping is an art. I just wish that art did not degrade women, black woman in particular. I think there are better words that can discribe woman than hoes,b@tches, and sluts. I think we need to start uplifting our woman, start rapping about the good woman. Let them others say where they are.

That probably had nothing to do with the topic. Sorry

i'm black i do no longer degree suited habit via what rappers say. of path I even have the appropriate go get mad approximately racist feedback. i think of the "individuals do it too" excuse is juvenile. and there's a extensive distinction between what someone who regularly host politicians and individuals of the mainstream media can do and what an entertainer can do. I wager if Oprah stated as somebody a redneck and stated nicely Jeff Foxworthy says it no person might settle for that because of the fact she is held to a distinctive time-honored than a comedian.

Isn't kind of like when you call your kid brother an f"ing idiot and it's okay. But if the guy down the street calls him an f"ing idiot then it's not okay.
I can make fat jokes if I'm fat. Carlos Mencia can make "beaner" jokes because he is one. Women can call each other bitches but let a man try it. Get the picture?
The only problem with this is that society becomes desensitized to this type of language. The next thing you know we have an Imus thing going on.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and even "The Man" and you think it's OK.

But when I call you, "******", "Kike", "Towelhead", "Sand-******", "Camel Jockey", "Beaner" or "Chink" you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live

You have the United ***** College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the NAACP. You have BET.

If we had WET(white entertainment television) we'd be racists.

If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.

If we had white history month, we'd be racists.

If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racists.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am white. I am proud.

But, you call me a racist

The people who control the media want to destroy the white race, pure and simple.

Because YOU guys have put my race through a LOT with Jim Crow, restrictive covenants, White primaries, racial gerrymandering, burning crosses, kidnapping our ancestors from the west coast of Africa and forcing them to do physical slave labor, and many other things to put my race down and make us feel inferior to you!
