No one really knows how long the universe is. Only God knows! I have seen a documentary show that tried to travel and measure the universe using a computer program. But eventually, have failed... only space dusts were found at the extremes... yet still the journey has not yet ended.

Isn't it odd that people keep asking this same question over and over again?
The Universe that we can "see" today with our very best technology available to us extends out a "seeable" distance of 40 Billion Light Years in all directions. That does not mean that it stops there...We just can't see any farther out than that.
Another anoying thing about distance measurement is that to measure distances you measure from this thing to that thing.
What do you do when there is nothing at the other end? How do you measure that distance? At this time we can't see any farther than 40 Million Light Years out into space. So we can't figure out how to measure any farther than that.

The visible universe is about 14 billion lightyears in each direction.
The actual size is too large to be seen, but it is about 10^37 lightyears according to the Cosmic Inflation Theory.

You should be more specific with your question.
From a human perspective, we have no idea, therefore it is infinitely large. "Long" suggests that the universe is only two dimensions when in reality it is three.
