How do I replace sink\tub metal drain piece? Just the piece that the water drains through; not a complete pipe. Again, just the metal seal on bottom of porcelin sink\fiberglass tub. Thanks.

If you want the 'easy button', they make drain covers that epoxy right over the old drain, ask at the plumbing store. For actual replacement, need more info on type. E-mail.

Removing rusted, corroded brass or pot metal drain pieces from tubs, sinks, etc, without damaging the actual unit, can be a really daunting task even for a professional plumber. It's certainly not a good job for a diy'er to tackle. It sometimes requires specialized tools and a contortionist body. If this thing is leaking badly, I'd call a plumber if I were you.
