Do you change the oil every 3000 miles on your automobile or?

Oil is the life of yer vehicle. I change mine every 2000. It only takes a couple of minutes, why not do it?

DEFINITELY Change the oil every 3K miles -- and add oil inbetween as needed ...

Given the extreme expense of trying to purchase a new vehicle .. it is FAR BETTER to take care of the one you have and let it last those 10+ years (or 15 or more) so that you can get the most mileage out of your investment.

Bottom line: How useful can be the investment in such a large expense. IF it lasts for 150K or 200K miles -- then all the better. (I can't justify a 20K or 25K cost (or more) any closer together than 10+ years -- it just is not something that is in my budget. I've worked very hard, and I prefer to keep what I have running and in good repair than to waste money on a more frequent basis.)

I have an older car so I get the oil changed before 3000 miles along with the filter.

Company car. I used to. A couple years ago we were told to follow the owners manual. I hate it, get the oil changed around 4,500.
