Yes there are. Although the term "second world" is rarely used, it does exist. An example of a first world country would be the United States, the United Kingdom or Israel. Second world would be a country like Egypt or Turkey, countries with stable economies, but are not extremely rich or powerful. Third world countries include Vietnam, Sudan and North Korea, very poor counties that often have food shortages.

======================================
1. Developed countries, and their dependencies.
2. Newly industrialized countries or NICs, nations with economies more advanced and developed than those in the developing world, but not yet with the signs of a developed country [1][2][3][4]. These category includes South Africa, Mexico, China, Malaysia, Brazil, the GCC states, India, Philippines, Thailand and Turkey.
3. Countries with an economy consistently and fairly strongly developing over a longer period: the Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, much of South America, several of the Persian Gulf States, the countries of the former Warsaw Pact and others. See Emerging markets.
4. Countries with an inconsistent record of development: most countries in Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean (excepting Jamaica, in category 2, and Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory); much of the Arab world; also much of Southeast Asia, except Singapore (category 1), the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, and Thailand (all category 2). 76% of the world's countries fall under this category.
5. Countries with long-term civil war or large-scale breakdown of rule of law or non-development-oriented dictatorship ("failed states") (e.g. Haiti, Somalia, Sudan, Myanmar, North Korea); they sometimes also have low resources.

Actually, in this day and age, it's politically mistaken to name a nation first- or 3rd-international. They are most effective built, or setting up. Hence, South Africa and Sudan might each be below "setting up" and international locations like America might be "built". In this fashion, it removes any speak of first-, moment-, or 3rd-international classifications.
