Can anyone who's had one for a long time tell me if they get worn looking? Would you buy one again?

I've had two (In two different houses) and I wouldn't trade them in for a regular stove for anything. They are much easier to keep clean, however, you need to make sure you clean up all spills immediately or they will bake on. Use ONLY a flat top stove cleaner, do not use anything like windex or commercial cleaner on your stove. They do sell scrapers especially for flat top cookers to get off tough spills. As long as you use the cook top cleaner to clean and shine they will come out looking great everytime. With regular cleaning they should stay looking great.

From what I have read in DIY Forums, the main problem is dropping pans on them and cracking the surface. Spillage should not be a major problem if cleaned up quickly and not left to burn on. This is mostly a situation of treating the cooktop with some care. I see that Easy-off has come out with a cleaner for glasstop stoves.

I recently bought a smooth top stove from Sears & I will never go back to the original cooktop. I love mine & I use the special cleaner made for smooth tops, & it keeps the surface clean & shiny. I would definitely purchase another one.

btw: The special cleaner can be purchased where the smooth top stoves are sold, as well as Wal*Mart, Krogers, etc. I also spray Windex on it in between cleanings with the special cleaner.

Kaboom paste. positioned a dab on a moist sponge and scrub it. Then take a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water in a sprig bottle and use that to scrub the Kaboom off with a terry textile.

My sister loves hers, it looks expensive but she said it wasn't. And she said it was really easy to clean and heats up quickly.
