Well, there are two ways of looking at this. One -- if a person doesn't get their license until 18, that means that those who are younger in their senior class won't get sufficient amount of driving time before they go to college. Due to the fact that a greater amount of people don't drive while they are at college, this then means that the person won't fully experience driving until after college and in the working world. By this time, it would help to know how to drive already.
However, the other question you have to ask yourself is..are kids driving way too soon? In the state I live in, the driving age is set at 17. I think this is perfect because it gives you about a year to get use to driving before you go off to college but yet doesn't allow kids just entering high school on the road.

You should be atleast 18 before you can receive a license. I also believe you should be able to pass the driving test with a manual transmission.
The reason lawmakers do not pass a law like this, I believe, is because at 16 you can legally work. If you can work, you need a way to get there. And they want everyone working so they can collect more taxes.

No. 18 is too old to first be getting out on the road. Teens have jobs, have other obligations and need to be able to drive. They also need to be able to live their lives with some dignity. If you trust people and show them some respect, they'll often live up to your expectations. Holding kids in childhood makes no sense to me. Let them get out in life and succeed. If they want to act crazy and screw up, take their licenses away until they're 21. I think a driving age of 16 is just about right. It worked for me and just about everybody I know and I'm in my 50's. Why should it be different now for today's kids?

I am 12 and i think that the driving age should be 17 but i think we should have to take drivers ed (when we are 15) until they are 17 and at the age of 16 we should be able to get our learners permit. That way we are very experienced drivers by the time we can get our license

The driving age must be at 18 because a person at that time has already Ben going to lunch.
