Let the buyer beware. MTD owns Cub Cadet, White, Troy-Built, Bolens, Yard-man, Yard Machines, and Gardenway. You get what you pay for. If \you want a quality machine, DO NOT buy from a big box store. Can they service the machine on location? Can the do warranty work? Will they deliver, and the machine set-up right? Check with some local servicing dealers, and see what they have. You may pay more, but you will have less headaches in the long run.

The troy built used to be the best of the tillers. Now that they are owned/made by MTD they are just another tiller. With care they will still last a long time. When they were made by Troy built they were like a piece of farm machinery now they are like yard care equipment.
