I'm 16 and this is really embrassing but ive always known that im a bit different to the norm "down there"coz i have dark pigmentation in between my thighs and all that area...but also my inner labia is quite long and wrinkely... i was wondering if this is normal or not...?
it sticks out of my outer labia and can be seen from the front view if im naked "down there". i really dont like it and im really ashamed of it.... however i dont want surgery coz ive heard/read about how it could go wrong.
its just i decided to look at a porn site to see if i was normal and all the other girls "bits" are totally different and look so clean and perfect. where as i look ugly. however there was one woman that looked simliar to me and there was soo many comments left describing how ugly she was down there!
i'm really worried that no one will want to have sex with me... :(
this is not a joke im being totally serious and im really upset :(

Shave your labia. That's all you have to do. Long labia are fine, but hairy labia are unattractive. Hairy labia are not very clean either. In some cultures, long labia are supposed to be ugly, but that's not true if you live in America. Some cultures practice female circumcision. That's not good, because the labia cause a woman to enjoy sex.

It is normal for the labia minora (the smaller set of lips that closes over the opening to the vagina) to be wrinkly in appearance as is the dark pigmentation (this often has to do with the race that the woman is). As for the length of the labia minora some asymmetry (unevenness when it comes to size) is also normal.
I would recommend also discussing your concern with your mom and your dr.
I had the surgery to the labia minora to remove excess skin from the left side and I had a lot of problems afterward but if the surgery is done right by an experienced dr there should be minimal problems although with surgery of any kind there is always risk.
Also, with having the surgery if a woman has it there will be a scar left behind from that surgery. She won't notice it unless she tries to find it with a mirror (I tried shortly after my surgery 10 years ago but couldn't find it) but a dr will notice it. And yes, with every dr that she has to see she has to let them know that she had the surgery done.
But as I said before talk to your mom and your dr (the reason I say this is because they can give some extra reassurance to you).
