One of the key freedoms in the founding of the U.S. was the freedom to worship as one chose. Or not. That's central to the whole idea of the separation of church and state. The two sides to that were freedom from religion, that the church didn't interfere with the legislative bodies, and freedom for religion, that the legislative bodies didn't set up restrictions around religious practices.
Many of the 'founding fathers' were deists. That was the Enlightenment-era equivalent of atheism. Please do not confuse it with Christianity.
The central tenets of the U.S. Constitution are remarkable and should be the source of pride for the U.S. people. Unfortunately, we pretty much ignore most of it nowadays and the current government is actively seeking to undermine it and remove its protections.
You don't want to diss the 'forefathers'. You want to get us back to what they envisioned. Study up, teacher.

It wasn't, you moron.
Your country was founded on deist and humanist principles. Honestly, open a history book before you reach for the keyboard in future.

No-one cares if you pray in your church or other private place. It's when you want to make it part of everyone else's business that the problem arises. Since your country was founded on principles of freedom from persecution and religion you can see why it's an issue, can't you?

you're absolutely correct. Our problems today stem from a combination of factors. Technology has made it easier for our people to get things they want faster. This eliminates many peoples' work ethic and reinforces their desire to want what they want RIGHT NOW. In addition to this, our nation has adopted the value of not wanting to hurt ANYBODY'S feelings, even if they deserve it. Extreme political correctness and liberalism have made our values what they are today. We live in a world where everyone is right, and everyone MUST be accepted. The christian viewpoint does not coincide with this, causing the people that have been tainted by this mentality to label Christians as "intolerant" or "hateful." Political correctness and Liberalism will eventually destroy this country if something isnt done.

If history has taught us anything, it is all about "me". This country wouldn't be here if "me" didn't want success by taking land from others. Christians slaughtered thousands to put down railroads, build towns and rape this land. So if our forefathers did it, don't we learn from them? Our ethics and values today are no different than yesterday.

It was founded on Christian principles of fairness and justice. This is good.
It was not based on voodoo like Christian beliefs. The people that built America did it without any help from any so called gods.
It is really the belief systems that are ignorant and have to be discarded.

While this country was founded on the principles of freedom of speech and religion, recently people who prefer to call themselves atheists or nonreligious, want to stop all people from being able to pray, or worship or even to mention God. It breaks down the moral fibers of society. It is a shame that the moral majority should need to be shackled by the immoral minority that can lobby in government.
