Mathematically speaking, "Difference" means the answer when you deduct a number from another number.
In this case, the difference of 998 and 799 is
998 minus 799 = 199
The answer is 199

998 is nearer to 1000
by 2no.
799 is far away from 1000 by 201nos.
Reverse of 799 (997) is nearer to 998 by 1no.
Whereas reverse of 998 (899) is far of away from 799 by 100 nos.
Here the difference is " two zeros"
Whereas in the first one it is "2" & 201
