Yes I completely agree, what's the point in pasting stuff from wikipedia when people can just go and read for themselves, it just seems so impersonal and keeps the fun out of answering questions.

Not really. While I have never used wikipedia for an answer here, I do respect people who want to give the most reliable answer to questions. This is not always an opinion board. Some people really want to know the facts. Boring as it seems, at times those sites do fit the bill.

When people are looking for answers to their questions I go to Wikipedia so that they get the correct answer and all the information that they need. If you are looking for the opinion of others then maybe you could state that in your question as though your taking a pole of opinions.

Most people are working on homework or haven't heard of Wikepedia.

So to answer your question, No, I don't hate it, it can be very helpful for those who are asking a real question.

Yes as it is not a person's opinion. I mean its fine to give your answer and then a website, but giving out a website address is not an answer. If you wanted a website reference you would ask for it surely.

Yes. Most people want the personal touch, from someone who's had experience of the problem or whatever

if its just a copy /paste,,, and often a longggggggg one, then yes, i dont like that,, but to sum up the main points, along with your take on it, i think its fine to use any outside source,,,,
i do this sometimes, with questions that havent been answered for days,,,,,, i figure if no one else knows/answered,,, my gathering info from wikipedia is better then nothing
