Because it's Hollywood, and typically history doesn't sell movies. Drama does. They always change things to fit what they want. My question is why does it bother so many people when one can think of movies and screenplays as an art.

Who knows why movie directors always change history when using names out of history. Still, are you any better. What is this about 4500 years of Persian history? The Persians were not even in that area 4500 years ago, and the first time that Persia emerged as a powerful force in history was only 2500 years ago. You are guilty of the same crime as Warner Brothers, albeit to perhaps a lesser degree.

How do you know history was changed? The current regime of Iran, which is Persia, is ran by a homo-midget and radical imams living in the 10 century.

History is always written by the victor. There is always a grain of truth in historic tales were the victor was a little more braver and the loser a little bigger or more in numbers. Chances are the old day Persian fornicated animals or each other, much like the later day ones do. Persians fought in huge numbers when it was to their advantage, They could ride a camel but can't drive a boat. The Greeks taught them that.

I don't see what the fuss is about...

Look,Hollywood doesn't care of King Xerxes had to watch the Battle of Thermopylae from the deck of the Good Ship Lollipop and the Spartans danced around like West Side Story to keep the Persians from getting thru the pass. If it makes the studio a sh** load of money and gets people to buy tickets in theatres AND gives them big profits on their investment then who gives a hoot.
